Project Name: ND6

Location: Avon Street, Bristol

Client: Sanctus

We Had to install a new 6.5m deep manhole onto an existing combined sewer in the centre of a cross roads in a highly built up area in Bristol. The work was very restricted & carried out from road level by using a 21t excavator with 3m extended clamshell grab. Before excavation commenced, we fitted a vacuum attachment to a 21T machine to enable us to uncover known, and unknown buried services within the working area safely.

The work involved over pumping the live combined sewer to enable us to form a new manhole with a backdrop connection ready to pick up the adjacent attenuation tank. Once the manhole was installed we had to carry out alterations to an existing attenuation tank, involving increasing the size by double & connecting into the newly formed manhole.

Sanctus

Sanctus employed Onyx Civils to complete deep drainage amendments, snagging and pavement repairs within a live environment at ND6 in Bristol. Sanctus were impressed with the professional attitude of not only Onyx management but the site operatives whilst working alongside the public in completing the work safely and expediently, leaving each phase clean and tidy on completion, and ultimately achieving local authority sign off.
